Has anyone gotten this controller to work:

Basically what i did was take off the shell around the receiver and solder the wires to the existing pins. that way i could use the controller for both the actual ps2 and (theoretically) the arduino. Unfortunately, the arduino doesn’t recognize it. I’ve tried literally everything on the troubleshooting page. here is the serial output:

Unknown Controller type
The wiring is right, as the “connect” led lights up when i turn it on (it is connected to the controller, as the led is not blinking, but just solid.)
The controller/receiver work fine, as i can use the ps2 fine even after soldering.
