Color Fire Hero Preview

The following is a teaser for my current project inspired by Chris Marion’s Fire Hero. It will be controlled via an Arduino running my PS2 Controller Library much like Chris did, but my approach for the color flaming is radically different. This was the very first flame test to verify proof of concept, but it still needs fine tuning; as you will see in the video.

No other information yet, just enjoy the awesomeness.

UPDATE:

Some teaser pics until I get it properly documented. Click to enlarge.

Thanks gadget, though I think you mean (http://www.homeofpoi.com/). I don’t think hooked on phonics would have dye.

No secrets revealed yet! I have settled on a much better nozzle. Results in a much more controlled and uniform burn then the messy blast you see in the video.

Oops, my mistake: shortcuts in comment fields = fail :/

When you do reveal the brilliance, I would be very interested in how you’ve navigated the hurdle of firing superheated salt compounds into the air :) It’s been stumping me for quite some time

    • [...] This means I’ll be able to use the same guitar for this, and my Color Fire Hero display. (Teaser post here till I get that fully documented.)  I opened up the guitar and with my voltmeter in hand reverse engineered the signaling for the [...]

Fantastic. Can’t wait to see how you do the coloured fire. Sure looks like burning salts but no frizzle. maybe superfine powders.. no idea how you’re doing this.
